To explore the landscape of human experience through the cinematic medium.

The Mandarin Picture Company was conceived in March 1997 by Matthew Eggers Silas for the purpose of producing Nomad, a feature length film he began writing several months prior.  In March of 1998, Stephen Zinn joined Mandarin to produce a two and a half minute promotional trailer.  From this trailer, funding was secured to begin production on Mandarin's first film, Nomad.

Matthew and Stephen completed post production on Nomad in July 2002 and are looking forward to a public screening in 2003.
